Our sport, the one that we quickly associate with certain patterns or articles. In a hypothetical case, if each one of us were given the choice of which product to choose from our clothing, we would choose football boots, without a doubt, but... Do you really believe that the boots are the most important item? When it comes to playing football there are many details to consider, and knowing them can greatly improve your performance.
Technical football match socks
For many football players, the idea of investing money in technical socks sounds like a crazy idea, but with time and spending money on socks, they will realise the importance of them, as it is a vital item that helps to avoid an issue that we already discussed in a previous post, such as chafing and blisters, not to mention the dreaded injuries and of course, in socks with grips, prevent the foot from slipping inside the boot. There are many factors to consider before buying football socks, the main ones:
- Technology for increased grip and rollover prevention
- Thick or thin socks
- Compression support or different reinforcement areas
Gripping socks come in two kinds: socks with non-slip pods and socks made of silicone yarn. There are many brands of dubious quality copying these styles of socks that are not at all recommendable sometimes, as they either use poor quality materials or the pods, far from providing grip, only make us uncomfortable. That's why at Futbolemotion we have six types of really good socks that we can recommend without hesitation.
adidas football socks
adidas socks are mainly focused on giving that extra grip using threaded silicone. As usually happens in this kind of composition, grip improves with uses and gives us a good grip but without being as excessive as in other models. The upper is high and has padding in the heel and toe areas, which is perhaps a little more noticeable, as the rest of the sock is quite thin and therefore the reinforcements feel necessary.
A perfect alternative if you don't like those thick socks and rather feel everything that happens on our feet.
Sp Grip football socks
The Spanish brand has always been known for manufacturing equipment by football players for football players. At very affordable prices, we find a really interesting sock with all kinds of technologies available. Special anti-slip technology for footballers with double density to prevent blisters, elastic for a perfect fit and double terry for shock absorption - symbolic of comfort, cushioning and grip.
Trusox football socks
The brand that started it all and completely changed the way we wear our football socks. The Trusox panels are inside and outside the sock and the grip my friends is sublime. Your foot will not move around inside the boot and it is one of the options we see the most in the market today - a strong, thick sock, it is true, but it is always comfortable and has a very good durability. The option with the longest history.

Nike football socks
They are another alternative with less thickness and they really have grip, maybe not as aggressive, but these socks really deliver. The method is again siliconised yarn and we have a medium grip, the rest of the sock is thin with no flashy reinforcements, but just enough thickness to have that perfect comfortable feel. Sweat wicking and comfort are a hallmark of these socks. One of my favourite alternatives, as it doesn't stand out too much in any aspect, but it does contribute in all senses.
TapeDesign football socks
One of the last ones to arrive but with a differential detail: the panels do not get inside the sock, something that bothered some players and that they will not have with Tape Design. An alternative that is gaining followers as they try them and that is simply fantastic, comfort, without being extremely thick and with a grip that is simply brutal. You have to try them out.
The only thing we want to do through this post is to make people realise the importance of having good SOCKS; preventing injuries, uncomfortable blisters, fatigue and, of course, injuries such as sprains. Of course, you will find a multitude of socks to choose from through our website.
