A little over a year ago adidas created the lightest football boots in the market, a model whose weight was below 99gr. Light boots becoming a popular trend was what pushed adidas to start a project that went on for several years and became reality when the first generation of adidas F50 99gr was launched.
adidas has always paid special attention to its boots´weight as we have seen with several models such as the SL predator, the CrazyLight and obviously the lightest boot in the market, the F50 99gr. There are not many functional differences on this new model but we can appreciate several updated when it comes to the boot´s aesthetics.
The framework of the new adidas 99gr is equipped with a PU reinforced mesh and an extremely thin polyester foam to achieve sensation similar to playing barefoot, which has both advantages and disadvantages. In order for the framework not to lose support it is equipped with an internal skeleton.
Furthermore, as it happened with the previous generation, the framework is translucent, this way showing its internal structure and the reinforcements placed on the toecap and the boot´s sides.
There are no changes at a functional level when it comes to the outsole. The plate is extremely thin but it still achieves a good distribution of the pressure created by the Speed Stud, so the player does not feel uncomfortable at any moment. It includes triangular-shaped studs to improve traction during maximum-speed plays.
When it comes to aesthetics, it looks more like a football boot than its previous generation did (which looked like track and field footwear). It also includes details with the adidas performance logo on the side just like the X line and a chrome outsole similar to the one we can see on the Purechaos, Purecontrol and Puremessi.
As it happened last year, the adidas 99gr will be a limited edition with very few units available for the entire world. Fútbol Emotion will be the exclusive distributor of this boot in Spain, which will be available at our website by clicking HERE.
