Nike has prepared a version of its Mercurial boots to pay tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo's sports career with the Portuguese Federation. This version has been called "Special Edition" and although that's not a real special name, it's an incredibly exclusive edition. Only 156 pairs have been produced, the same figure that represents the 156 matches in which CR7 has worn the Portugal jersey.
For the decoration of this model of Mercurial Superfly, Nike has decided to fusion the Mercurial Chapter 6 "Born Leader", which were designed with many references to the Portuguese Federation; along with the white of the current Mercurials of the Just Do It Pack that so much luck is bringing to the player in this world championship.
As it couldn't be otherwise, such an special and limited model must have some reference that recognises the importance of this release and here is where the classic serial number comes into play. Unlike other limited models, it has more presence given that it's been placed at the front of the Dynamic Fit Collar of the right boot because in the left there's a small CR7 logo.
In terms of functionality, this Mercurial Superfly is the same we all already know, constructed with a Flyknit upper with a textured finish to improve the contact with the ball. It also includes a really narrow last, not suitable for wide feet, and an remarkably aggressive sole to squeeze the player's speed to the limit.
The new Nike Mercurial Superfly football boots are available in very limited units at Futbol Emotion's website. *Release date to be confirmed.
