Mizuno's speed boot, the Alpha version, was a rarity in its market, as it was not made of natural leather and had a philosophy more akin to ‘ordinary’ speed boots. However, due to its construction and choice of materials, it was a model that simply delighted everyone who tried it.
Well, now comes its second edition with small changes, as we are used to Mizuno, small improvements that raise even more the quality of a product that is already a delight.
The upper changes not in shape but in construction. We see a slightly stiffer material, (slightly - it is not a rigid material) and with an internal cage that is very similar to the first generation but with a little more structure.
The inner part is also modified by enlarging the Zeroglide surface that we previously had only in the heel area and in the insole and now extends over the entire inner shell, which makes the inner feel fantastic.
The tongue area is also modified giving us a better fit as the eyelets close towards the foot and not towards the outside which improves the boot-foot connection, a lot. Lastly, the outsole has been slightly changed keeping the carbon inner plate for the Made in Japan version, but with a slight redesign of the lugs making them a bit more laminated.
And here is the new Mizuno Alpha model, which improves certain aspects of the last model giving us a great casing and that puts these Alpha as one of the best speed boots so far this year. Brutality from the people at Mizuno.
