The American brand has made one of the most brutal packs I have seen in a long time. But it's not just about football as the design and concept behind it also covers running, skateboarding, tennis and many more sports.
Nike wanted to prepare something big for these olympic games and they did it as only they know how to do it, in a big way. To do so, they used part of the legacy they have with the "safari style" that we saw for the first time in those Air Max Safari from 1987 that were designed by the iconic Tinker Hatfield.
Nike introduced these Safari style patterns into their designs mixing fashion and sport in a spectacular way that was completely revolutionary for the time. And in this 2024 and with the Olympics as a showcase, they have taken this design with different interpretations and modifications to more than 55 types of sports products to once again leave their mark on the world of sport.
Back to the world of the sport that most matters to us, football, we see this pack in all its silos, although we can't deny that Mercurial's history with this type of design is a long and long one.
Nike Mercurial football boots
Talking directly about the bomb that we have with this boot, it reminds us of exclusive models that Cristiano Ronaldo wore along his career and also to many designs that we had in the history of Nike's fastest boots.
On this occasion, the orange with the grey base is simply great. In addition, we have changes in the typography of the brand, as well as the whole "safari" pattern on the lower part. It's a real treat no matter how you look at it. On a technical level there are no changes and the new Mercurial model with Airzoom and Gripknit is simply a bomb.
Nike Phantom football boots
A silo that has a recent history with this kind of designs (Hello Hypervenom), and it really suits this design.
On a technical level the boot is comfortable, and it has that "sticky" grip that the gripknit provides and that becomes so special once you wear it for a couple of matches.
Nike Tiempo football boots
The most discreet ones save all the "safari" design for the outsole where it stands out on all sides. We do get to see something more on the upper, which looks a bit "cleaner" than its sisters, in a movement that "matches" Nike Tiempo's philosophical approach.
The sensations of comfort and striking satisfaction with this new Flytouch+, are very good and maintain the essence of a comfortable and touch boot that we always have in time, without renouncing to the safari inside all those who use it.
In short, a pack a bit more global than what we are used to and where Mercurial stands out with a design that, even though the years go by, always looks perfect. Friends, a real gem.
