As in the past years, at this time, adidas reveals the new Real Madrid kit. It's probably one of the teams with less possibilities of innovation in their home kit because they obviously not going to move from the white color. The design of the neck, the adidas stripes... and not too much more to work on. And this year they have decided you use a nice and elegant design. No more purple, blue or black. A metallic grey combined with the main white color and the clubs shield are the decorations we will find in the new Real Madrid jersey for the 2015-16 season.
So adidas had to make a bigger effort in giving us some stories around this new shirt to create a bigger launch. And the campaing of this launch is going to focus in the slogan "ONLY PERFECT COUNTS", this is a clear message thet in Real, being second doesn't count, because only winning matters and that's what the want to achieve with this new jersey.
But where adidas can innovate is in the away kit and the goalkeeper kit. Because with those kits there is no rules and the designers can bring all their creativity to launch something different. That's is why this away jeresey is completely different to the past version, with a main metallic grey color which we also find in some details of the home kit. But what really stands out are the fluor colors chosen for the hree stripes.
Among all the jerseys we are watching there is one I'd like to focus on, the second goalkeeper jersey. It's not that it's going to stand out too much but... It's green! and those of you who have known me for a while know that it's not easy to watch me playing with a goalkeeper jersey with a different color. So I'm glad Real Madrid chose it or the away kit... ¿Casillas, Keylor, De Gea...?
This jersey is full of small details like the rubber club shield we find in the ches, no longer embroidery like past years. I think this is a great solution because the embroidery can bother sometimes and this solution will make the players feel more comfortable.
In the inside area of the neck we will find an important details, a part of 'La décima' anthem which Real Madrid brought for Lisbon only a year ago. The legend we can find says 'hala madrid y nada más'.
And to finich, a point which we don't usually pay too much atention, but which I think does deserve it. The typography of the names and the numbers. If I've said this jersey has a classic desing, I can't say the same fo this aspect because Real Madrid and adidas have decided to take a risk and bring something completely different to what we've seen in the past.
