The first thing to say is that a coach is nothing without a notebook or notepad. I know a lot of people use mobile phones or iPads now, but it never hurts to have a good notebook.
The next thing we always recommend is a magnetic board to make it clear how the players have to do the rehearsed plays and the players' moves, as I have seen doors and walls of changing rooms painted to explain certain tactics. It is a very useful gift.
Let's move on to another basic: cones. I know many clubs already have them, but not all, and I can assure you that they will come in very handy. Imagine what our coach would be like without his or her magic cones for sprints and warm-ups. You know what to gift them.
Let us not forget the typical Bielsa whistle; Guardiola, 'Mou' and countless other coaches who use it to correct, draw attention to themselves or sometimes to act as a referee.

And finally, something we seem to forget is that even if our friend, colleague or family member has hung up his boots, it doesn't mean he doesn't need them. Of course, in matches and training sessions he will need to put them on again to be on the pitch. Here is a typical boot: it is none other than our beloved adidas Copa Mundial boot, or adidas Predator, like good old ‘Mou’.

Perhaps this will encourage them to take part in a warm-up session. And here are some gifts that will come in handy for the up-and-coming coaches and trainers.
