What is the upper of a boot?

This is the most visible part of the boot. The upper comprises all the aesthetic elemets of the boot: design, colors and part of the technology.

However, the importance of the boot goes far beyond. This is the boot part which determines the style of all the assemble depending on its materials (natural or synthetic), its weight, the presence of seams or not and the direction of the laces.
