Adjustment Systems
Each time more technologies are added to uppers so the boot provides a perfect fit and the foot doesn’t slide inside. Normally there are 3 types:
- Rubber wrinkles in the heel to hold the foot in place so no sliding occurs inside when running or striking.
- Crisscrossed adjustment systems to tighten the laces so the upper adapts to any instep, however wide they are. These technologies are more and more used each time, so we’ve got now the chance of getting a perfectly fitted boot, no matter what kind of foot we’ve got.
- One of the most important parts of the boot providing stability is the heel counter. This is why most last generation boots have a reinforcement in this area to provide a better adjustment and stability.
Striking Aid
Uppers present now some of the technologies which provide strength to strikes or put some effect onto them.
-
Normally, two rubber insertions or small flaps are placed in the striking area, either in the instep or inside the foot, depending on the kind of strikes the boots will carry out. These rubber areas cushion and stabilize the strong blows received and the flaps help directing the ball when striking with some effect.
-
Technologies have adapted through time to clean to the maximum the vamp, for example, by moving the laces to the outer area of the boot (something now common in almost 100% of the boots on the market).
-
The reversible tongues provide a vamp free from laces and irregularities.
