What does AG mean in a pair of Football Boots?
AG (Artificial Ground) Artifical Glass
Now almost all pitches present artificial grass either for amateur or professional categories. So, shoes had to also be adapted to these surfaces with different properties than other terrains.
AG soles (Artificial ground) have been recently developed and present added studs to make easier for the sole to grip onto artificial grounds allowing to spin without the sole being stuck to the surfacce, so our knees don’t suffer during these movements. The higher amount of studs also diminishes the erosion over synthetic grass, much more abrasive than the natural.
Traditionally, these boots were adapted to mid or low tier models but the introduction of artificial grass in professional football have made brands to make top-tier boots with AG studs.
